Do you have a close friend, a sibling, or anyone so close to you that you know very well? I must say, that I am most times able to tell what those closest to me mean, regardless of what they say. I also know there are people who can tell even how I feel regardless of what I say, and at times even before I say a word. At times it is very helpful to have such people in your life, it makes it easier to go through even difficult times.
One day a long time ago, a lady called Mary, was at a wedding, and her son Jesus Christ was there too. Mary knew Jesus had the ability to create wine, so when the wine was finished, she approached him and requested that He come in and help. Jesus however was reluctant. Mary did not argue, but instead just went to the servants and told them to do just as He was going to advise them. Not long after that Jesus told the servants to go and fill jars with water and the water changed to wine. Looking at the story of Jesus and His mother, we see that she knew her son. She did not argue with Him, she knew that He would come through regardless of what He said.
I have realized the longer I have stayed with someone the easier it is to know them. I feel it is the same with God. There are times when we start arguing with God, murmuring, complaining, and doubting Him, just because we have not known Him enough to understand what He means, even when He is silent.
To know someone easily then it is important to spend time with them. Therefore to know God and how He speaks to us we should spend time with Him. Get a few minutes in a day to just read His word and meditate upon it, and a few minutes to pray. That way when He speaks it is easy to understand.
